and east: Take US421 off I-77 to Boone,
NC. Stay on US 421 through Boone to Mountain City, TN. In Mtn City, pass Hardees, take the right at stop light across
from log cabin information center onto US 91 North. Continue on US 91 North to Damascus. Turn left onto Laurel Ave (the main street) at US91 and US58 split right past
the Exxon station in Damascus. Go 3 blocks and turn left on Shady Ave. Continue
straight 2.9 miles til you see Backbone Lodge on the left.
From Knoxville and south: Traveling I-81
north: Get off exit 19 (Abingdon), turn RIGHT off exit ramp, through light and continue straight on US 58 east for
12 miles to Damascus. Cross bridge at Town Park (red caboose) and go 2 blocks. Turn right on Shady
Ave. Continue straight 2.9 miles til you see Backbone Lodge on the left.
From Roanoke and north: Traveling
I-81 South: Get off exit 29, Glade Spring/Damascus. Turn LEFT off the exit
ramp, go 1/10 mile to stop sign, continue straight at stop sign onto VA Rt
91south. Continue straight 12 miles, come into Damascus and turn Right at the stop sign. Go 3 blocks and turn
left on Shady Ave. Continue straight 2.9 miles til you see Backbone Lodge on
the left.
From Ohio/West
Virginia and west: take I-77south to I-81 south. Get off exit 29,
Glade Spring/Damascus. Turn LEFT off the exit ramp, go 1/10 mile to stop sign,
continue straight at stop sign onto VA Rt 91south. Continue straight 12 miles,
come into Damascus and turn Right at the stop sign.
Go 3 blocks and turn left on Shady Ave. Continue straight 2.9 miles til you see
Backbone Lodge on the left.
